I’ve been mostly quiet lately because I’ve been working on projects, and then they all released at the same time! So I want to give them all a little attention and show what I’m involved with recently, then get you up on what’s coming next.
Many, many updates below!
Darkside Magazine Cover
I'm so excited to announce that I am the COVER PHOTOGRAPHER for the November 2023 issue of Darkside Magazine!
This photo is from a recent full-day shoot that I did with Mistress Darling at her home/dungeon in Dallas.
She also has a great interview inside and a bunch more of the photos I took that day!
Also, my monthly "Dirk Hooper's Gallery" article is also included in this issue with a new piece of art!
The easiest way to get the issue is just go to: DarksideMagazine.com
Bad Candy Issue 4 Covers
I’ve known Robert Henry for over 30 years and when a buddy like that needs help, I’m going to pitch in!
Robert is running a Kickstarter campaign for issue 4 of his comic Bad Candy. It’s a comic that’s a love letter to 80s horror films, and this is the last issue of this storyline. This issue also has the distinction of being penciled by horror comic legend Tim Vigil, who gave us 28 sequential pages to wrap the story up.
I did the cover illustration above. It’s my own take on an 80s movie poster, inspired by Drew Struzan’s movie poster art. If you don’t know Drew Struzan, you definitely know his work. He did the movie posters for all the Star Wars films, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and Harry Potter. He’s amazing.
What I learned from studying his work is how to do his unusual composition style, and how he uses cold colors and warm colors to unify the characters in his work.
The piece I turned in is nowhere near what Struzan did, but it’s one of my better pieces and I have him to thank for the art lesson, and Robert for the opportunity to participate in this project.
Robert turned in a penciled and inked artwork as well, but it needed to be colored for the project, so I ended up doing the color on that piece as well. You can see that below.
Both of those covers, and so much more is available right now in the Bad Candy issue 4 Kickstarter. You can also get issues 1-3 as either physical or digital copies to catch up with the story.
If you’re interested in getting your own copy of my covers then you only have until around noon on December 1st to make your bid!

Sexual Equinimity
Podopheleus has released his new book, Sexual Equanimity!
Here is the description from Pod: SEXUAL EQUANIMITY is a book of kinkducation. It covers a wide range of topics: D/s dynamics, D/s breakups, mental health, miscommunication, balancing a vanilla marriage with a D/s lifestyle, abuse within the femdom community, toxicity within the femdom community and so much more. It’s also a book about self-reflection, overcoming adversities, and the evolution of self.
I have two illustrations in this book, near the end. It’s a rare occasion that I get to do book illustrations and I really enjoyed creating the pieces for this book, and I’m really excited to be a small part of it.
If you’d like to know more you can follow all his links (including the link to his online store) here: https://linktr.ee/Podopheleus
Please tell him that Dirk sent you!
New Art and My Patreon Account!
Here is a recent piece I did titled “Inveigled.” It was this piece that marked a new era in my own work. It was this piece where I fully embraced a new, and frankly traditional method of painting my work. It’s taken me about six years of flailing about with color until I felt comfortable rendering color without “training wheels” and fully painting the work digitally, the same way I would if I was using acrylics.
I’m getting the best work of my life right now!
This piece, “Scratch” was my next piece soon after.
I have other pieces, but I can’t share them in this newsletter and I can’t share them on almost any social media platform without risking the loss of my account.
That’s why I created my Patreon account in the first place, to give me a platform to both present my art and writing, and comics, the way they were intended.
I'm offering a lot on my Patreon account!
For as little as $3 a month, you can see all of my new kinky art completely uncensored.
For $5 a month, you'll also get a lot of behind-the-scenes and art process work, you get the full back catalog of stuff I've shared over the past year too.
Additionally, I'm posting chapters of the Dominatrix Boss sequel as soon as I complete the second draft, which means you can read the sequel, but also comment on what I'm doing. You could affect the outcome of the final book!
I'm also working on a couple of comics and sharing that progress on my Patreon.
Finally, if you just want to help support me, and the creation of new kinky content, then this is a great way to help me create NEW WORK!

What’s Next?
It’s the holiday season and I have two big commissioned projects that I’m working on, so I’m mostly going to be focusing on that.
But next year promises to be full of big releases!
I’m thinking about a hardback book with my artwork. What do you think?
